PLAINVILLE, Ind. -- Lloyd Bateman's induction into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame has been a long time coming. Through the tireless efforts of good folks like Jerry Osmon, Hugh Schaefer, Jack Butcher, and numerous others, a longtime wrong has been righted. Bateman led tiny Plainville to unimaginable heights during his playing days on his way to becoming the first high school player in the state to score 2000 points...
"He had a good touch, and he developed real fast. His sophomore year against Lyons, I took him out in the third quarter.
He had already scored 53 points. He had a lot of ability."
- Gentleman Coach 'Tot' Nelson
