ELKHART, Ind. -- One of our game's finest stewards, Earl Mishler is set for another season with many additions to ETPearl.com...
Mishler has numerous updates including offseason personnel capsules, a personal blog, and multiple records to the Boys History files.

Thanks to the tireless research of fellow documentarian Ken Johnson, Mishler has added a huge block of records from pre-consolidation Noble County teams from the 1950s and '60s.
Old-time club members (like me) may remember some of these teams:
Albion Trojans and Wolf Lake Wolverines (now Central Noble); Kendallville Comets, Avilla Panthers and Rome City Romans (now East Noble); Ligonier Red Raiders, Cromwell Spartans and Wawaka Warriors (now West Noble).
Of special note is additional data on two schools of personal interest to Mishler - Some of the early years of the Culver Indians, for whom he once played first base in a different sport, and the Warsaw Tigers, where his dad, Ben Mishler, was a starting guard in the 1932-33 and 1933-34 seasons. Plus, a lot on the Syracuse Yellow Jackets and the scores and roster from the 1933 Sweet 16 state finalist Beaver Dam Beavers.
In the process, three more 1,000-point career scorers were uncovered -- Raydean Snyder (Albion, 1957); Rob Wiley (Central Noble, 1970); and Rollin Myers (Lima, 1960).
Adding those three to his list means there are an amazing total of 483 players in just an 11-county area in our 1,000-Point Club. That list is posted on the Boys History area of the website, under "Other Miscellaneous" stuff, along with a 500-Point Club (single season) list that has 322 names (some duplicates, of course, with multiple seasons).
Ken Johnson moved to Wisconsin a couple of years ago but continues to research old-time Indiana basketball. He was a star at the former West Twp. High School in Marshall County.
Well-known area sports writer Kenny Peterson also has added some coaches' names to several of his school lists during the offseason.
