Robinson, a 6-5 junior guard, scored 39 points, grabbed eight rebounds and added three assists, three steals and two blocks in Lake Central's 78-66 victory over East Chicago Central to claim the boys District 1 award. The son of 1991 Mr. Basketball Glenn Robinson of Gary Roosevelt, the younger Robinson made 14-of-19 field goals and 10-of-12 free throws to amass his output for the Indians (8-7). He has committed to the University of Michigan.
The 6-4 Harris was recognized in boys District 2. The junior guard netted 21 points -- 16 in the first half -- plus nine rebounds, six assists, six steals and no turnovers in a 60-46 decision over Lawrence North. The result improved the Royals to 14-2 for the season.
Zeller averaged 28.5 points over two games to be honored for the second time this season in boys District 3. A 6-11 senior center, Zeller -- who previously was cited the week of Dec. 13-18 -- scored 25 points in leading the Hatchets to a 74-47 rout of Vincennes. A day later, in a Class 3A No. 1-No. 2 showdown, the Indiana University recruit poured in 32 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dealt five assists in a 78-61 triumph over Princeton. The latter win moved Washington to 14-4 overall and 5-0 in the Big Eight Conference.
Jennings collected girls District 1 accolades after leading Logansport (16-4) to a 65-31 victory over Pioneer. A 5-5 freshman guard, Jennings scored 33 points and handed out six assists in the win. She was 13-of-21 from the field, including 4-of-6 on 3-pointers.
The 5-4 Wireman sank a school-record seven 3-pointers en route to garnering honors in girls District 2. After trailing 32-13 at intermission, the senior guard scored 28 of her game-high 33 points in the second half to rally Tri-County (13-6) to a 51-44 victory over West Central.
Miller, a 5-5 junior guard, averaged 27.0 points in two games to receive girls District 3 honors. First, she netted 21 points in a 52-50 setback to Morristown in which she became her school's all-time leading scorer, boys or girls. She followed with 33 points and six steals in a 71-63 victory over Southwestern (Shelby) as the Jets completed their regular season at 12-8. Miller moved her career point total to 1,384 after the latter game, 41 ahead of 2001 graduate Chad Miller, the school's boys top point producer.
